One of my favourite parts of any day is our bedtime routine. I use the word routine loosely as we don't really have a sleep routine, but storytime after bath is a routine that we love to follow. I love reading to Sutton and try to read two stories every night. Some days we read more, some days less.

It was hard to pick Sutton's top five books. Honestly, we have so many books which we love to read. But these five stick out and have been a firm-favourite of Sutton's for a while.
1. What the Ladybird Heard by Julia Donaldson - This has to be Sutton's favourite story. Once we finish reading, he observes the illustrations closely, and then we discuss what he has found. He learnt about spiderwebs, scarecrows and hay bales from this book. If there is one thing I am passionate about, that is extending Sutton's vocabulary.

2. Hugless Douglas by David Melling – Hugless Douglas is an excellent series of books; however, the original is Sutton's favourite.
3. Zigby Dives In by Brian Paterson – This book truly captures Sutton's attention. It may be the vibrant colours and illustrations in the book or the lovely little tale of their adventure. Regardless, it is a firm favourite of Sutton's.
4. Oh, The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss – Yes, I know. There are a lot of classics on this list. There is a reason they are the classics. Not only does Sutton love this book, I do too. Life lessons, adventure and words so eloquently strung together, what's not to love?
5. Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson – We went through a phase where I had to read this book repeatedly (four to five times in a row in a night). This went for weeks on end. I have to admit that I love this book too.

All these books have captured my heart and given me the gift of memories for life with Sutton. I hope they do the same for you too.
