Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you! What a blessing 2018 was to Damian and I. Although faced with some challenges, our greatest gift arrived in October.

Damian and I bought this sack from Woolworths. I used it for a photo shoot of my lovebug for Christmas a few weeks after Sutton was born.

As the festive season approached, I puzzled over what to get Sutton for his first Christmas. The truth is, he has no idea what is going on. Damian and I agreed that we would not go over the top and spoil Sutton. He does not understand what a present is, let alone what Christmas is and the meaning behind it. We joked and said, all Sutton wants for Christmas is milk (it’s the truth - boy loves his food). But being his first Christmas, I also felt that we had to get him something.

What we decided to do was get Sutton something that he needed which would also stimulate him. I think one of my greatest stresses felt as a new mom is making sure that my child is mentally stimulated and that I am doing the right things at the right times. So we ended up buying Sutton a playing mat with a mobile/baby gym. What a great purchase it has been! He can sit under the mobile for ages listening to the music it plays and hitting the hanging mobiles. It’s been amazing watching him come to terms that he can reach the mobiles and when he touches them they move.

We bought our baby gym from Baby City. We purchased the Tiny Love - Gymini 123 Here I Go. I would highly recommend it. Oh, and it’s animal-themed which is what most of what we bought is aimed towards. We want Sutton to know, love and appreciate wildlife.

We also bought the odd piece of clothing which we bought at various sales (man there were some great sales before Christmas this year) and an interactive book from Mr Price Home. Mr Price Home actually has some cute and reasonably priced gifts.

Sutton turned two months on Boxing Day. Where does the time go? Our little love bug is growing daily, and his development is astounding. He coo’s constantly, smiles big gummy smiles and has even rolled onto his side from time to time. Please time SLOW DOWN! My little boy is growing rapidly.

I asked Damian the other day if he misses the newborn stage. I miss it! Truthfully I miss every stage. I have so enjoyed every stage of his life. I wish I could record every minute to relive it.

2019 is going to be a spectacular year with my two gorgeous men by my side. I look forward to spending each minute I can with you and making memories together.

Wishing you all a prosperous and loving 2019. XxX
