Showered with Love

With babaganushk’s exit date scheduled for the 31st of October, the carefree days of Damian and I doing whatever we want are dwindling. Over the past few weeks, we have literally been ‘showered’ with gifts and love.

Two weeks ago, I was surprised with a baby shower from my colleagues at work. What a beautiful and splendid morning we had as we feasted in chocolate covered strawberries, an array of cheeses and the most beautiful and tasty cake. I felt so overwhelmingly spoilt, gifted and cared for.

The beautiful cake that I mentioned. Please note that this was baked my my colleague and not a professional baker. Phenomenal, I know.

That afternoon, Damian’s mom and my parents flew in from Durban for our ‘Sip & See’. We decided to host a small celebration of a House Warming and Baby Shower in one. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t have done anything. I know that it is the most wonderful time of our lives, but we have been blessed with such love and care during this time, and that is what truly means the most to us. The weekend was absolutely phenomenal. I hadn’t seen my family since April (when we suspected we were pregnant), and it was just a lovely weekend spent with loved ones, visiting markets and eating good food.

The following week Friday, my boss kind of forced me to be at one of our schools. I couldn’t figure out why he wanted me to be there. That afternoon I found out why as the Heads of our Schools and the Heads of Departments showered me with another baby shower. The baby shower was such a surprise and filled with so much attention to detail. What I can say is that Damian, baby and I have been utterly spoilt.

The attention to detail was just perfect and so appreciated.

How beautiful is the decor!

Over the last weekends, Damian and I have prepped for his impending arrival. We have turned an empty shell into a nursery for him and have fitted our car seats, taken the pram out of the box etc. With just a comfortable chair needed for the corner of his room, we are ready to meet Baby Tsouris.

With each passing day, I cannot wait to meet you. The love I have for you already is great, and the love I have for your father and the way he touches my belly to feel you is exquisite.

Panoramic pic of his room (trying to get the room in one shot is hard).

My mom did the painting - how special!

The love of my life.
