This weekend, Damian and I both baked separate dishes. As we had some bananas that were starting to turn, we both decided to bake using the bananas. Damian made some delicious banana muffins yesterday and I decided to mix it up by trying a Banana-Oat Squares recipe.

The recipe is simple and easy to follow. If you have a sweet tooth, give it a try.
Ingredients
125g butter
65g light brown sugar
125ml golden syrup
240g rolled oats
70g cake flour
3ml ground cinnamon
2ml ground ginger
3ml baking powder
1ml salt
3 bananas, mashed

Melt butter, sugar and syrup over low heat. Stir in the oats. Sift flour, spices, baking powder and salt and add to the mixture. Stir well.
Add bananas to mixture and mix. Turn into a greased tin. Bake in a preheated oven at 180˚C for 20-25 minutes. Cut into squares and leave to cool.

Happy baking my fellow bakers!
