Since moving to Cape Town, Damian and I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the different restaurants and cuisines that this beautiful city has to offer. We love to try new restaurants and I always like to try a dish that I wouldn't normally opt for. During these last few weeks, we have mostly been concentrating on breakfast spots. We love breakfast, it is almost a guarantee that we will breakfast/brunch at least once every weekend.

Luckily, we have discovered three yummy restaurants not too far away from each other that I would like to share.

The first breakfast hangout is - Giulio's (2.6 km's from home). I adore this find. Damian's work colleagues told him about it a while ago and we decided to give it a try and have been hooked ever since. As you walk in the glass doors you receive a walm welcome from the wonderful staff. I love the decor, the atmosphere, the coffee and the food. Damian and I have tried a few different breakfasts but my favourite has been the 'Shakshuka'. The menu describes it as: 'Two gently poached Eggs in a Spicy Roast Pepper, Cumin & Pomodoro Sauce served with Chunky Toasted Ciabatta.' I describe it a special breakfast heaven. This dish is so full of flavor and is so different to the usual breakfast dishes out there.

The second breakfast handout that we enjoy is Folk Coffee (2.7 km's from home). I heard about Folk Coffee from work. As it is a mere 210 meters from our office, we occasionally will grab a coffee or takeaway toastie from Folk but had never sat down and enjoyed a meal there. Damian and I decided to try it one morning when searching for a place to stop and have breakkie. I love the eclectic decor and the smooth coffee. It is surprisingly more quiet in the early morning of the weekend and I love that Damian and I have this time to catch up on our respective week's over a delicious coffee. On both occasions that we have been, we have both eaten something different. Both times, the food has been superb.

The third restaurant is Bacon on Bree (1.6 Km's from home). Bacon on Bree focuses on, you guessed it, bacon. We have paid our respects to the bacon god on two occasions and both have been spectacular. I love the relaxed and simplistic vibe of this restaurant. They know what they are doing and the do it well. The meals are stuffed with big flavours and are a delight.

I love exploring this beautiful city that we live in. There are so many delicious restaurants right on our doorsteps, waiting to delight our tastebuds. I hope to meet them all, one bite at a time.
